Orquestra del Caos is a group that is always close to everywhere
and, at the same time, it explores the border in between nowhere
and the Infinite. In their own words "our mobile pattern refuses
to produce and reproduce always the same type of music and to remain
in the schemes of too narrow styles. We are close to contemporary,
experimental, popular and Mediterranean music; jazz and techno".
These words let us know about all the possibilities of Orquestra
del Caos, a mutant band formed in Barcelona in 1991, which emerged
as the prolongation of THE BIG ENSEMBLE from Taller de Músics, and
which is rather characterised by its versatility than for its obvious
broad-mindedness. Their high ductility has allowed them to participate
in electronic music festivals such as Sónar, in 1995; in B.A.M.
festival in 1997; or to endorse such an heterodox musician as John
Zorn, in the performance of the gam-piece "Cobra", in 1996, in the
Sala Apolo. These are only three good examples of Orquestra del
Caos' chaotic and umpredictable trajectory.
