Javier Hernando from 1979, as a member of the group Xeerox, has produced different works of electronic music under identities like Melodinamika Sensor, Sinusoidal, or under his own name. Parallel to this, he was cofounder of the label Ortega y Cassette (1981). Discos Esplendor Geométrico included three tracks of Melodinamika Sensor in the compilation "Barcelona Sampler", an album with the most significant of barcelona´s electronic underground (with Avant-Derničres Pensées, 32 Guajar's Faragüit, Camino al Desván and Melodinamika Sensor). In the nineties stand out the new cassettes in the label Toracic Tapes of Madrid, and others self-published, now under his own name or as Sinusoidal.
Also are important his collaborations with other artists in many fields: in the chema alvargonzález installation "Temps de Pas" and in the book and exhibition Alter Musiques Natives. Also in Sonar 95: Home Made Electronics, in sonic-film recreations of the tandem of Berlin Traveler-Newcleus-Da Costa, and with the musical project Mohochemie.
In parallel with his activities as a musician, Javier Hernando was the person responsible since 1981, and for more than ten years, of the spanish pioneer radio program, exclusively dedicated to industrial and electronic music "Los Silencios de la Radio", inside Radio Pica.
"Luz Nacarina" (Micrograma, Geometrik), his first cd, is a digital remastering of themes recorded in 1996-1998.
The music of Javier Hernando consist of, in the author´s own words, "electromagnetic resonances with a polarity that ranges from austere tones of achromatic desolation to soft modulations of hydrophile cotton layers".

"The ones that had the chance to access to some of the self-edited cassettes of the diverse projects carried out by Javier Hernando from the beginning of the 80's (recordings that, on the other hand, could perfectly be published nowadays), we had already consider as impossible that he would take the decision to publish his works in less perishable formats. For the joy of all the listeners of his 'Silencios de la Radio' in the first stage of Radio Pica, Hernando does not only publish his first record but he also coordinates the new sub-company of Geometrik, named Microgama. His musical past dates from 1979 when he was a militant of the legendary Xeerox. It can result ironical and unfair to cite Mouse on Mars, Oval or the company Mego to define his 'Luz Nacarina', but it is quite useful to place him. His explorer and sensory electronics is built with scantly sonorous sources moulded in curves of surrounding repetition that can turn into an intense one (Tremolo Sonda, Ecto Kirliania) without the need of noisy supports, formerly ethereal (Retorno tras Retorno), or counting on the mistery added by the silences or the premonition of the sound that is not heard (atractiva Bruma Caustica). In fact, when the sound appears (Rastrales, Gris Omega) it results, as the whole album, more epidermic than agressive." (Félix Suárez - ROCK DE LUX)

"Javier Hernando, driver, since 1981, of Radio Pica's broadcast 'Los Silencios de la Radio', a programme indispensable for knowing everything about experimental music and electronics made in the world, has edited many tipes in the last two decades: Melodinamika Sensor (1982-1983), Destellos Mercuriales (1990)... One of the first appreciations that should be done about 'Luz Nacarina' is realising about how the CD has enhanced and enlarged the listening possibilities of its music. Because if there is anything characteristic of Javier Hernando's performing, it is his special sense of the detail, less motley than minimalist, with which he gets a high hypnotic power. Becoming absorbed in the themes of 'Luz Nacarina' causes a feeling of an intense anxiety. Their sounds reflect a distressing and threatening post-industrial world. But they do it without fusses nor theatrical effects. On the contrary, the whole CD transmits -although it seems, a priori, a contradiction- an involving feeling of fragility." (F.O.S. - AJOBLANCO)
