The first one in raising the alarm was a famous expert in occultism in 1989, when he introduced in a TV late-show some blurred pictures taken with a lens, showing two humanoids manipulating, with wicked intentions, all kind of old crocks. The audience, very sceptical after UFOs, the Yeti and the Chupacabras' fiascos, did not take the matter seriously. However, two years after, there were tangible evidences about the existence of Fitzcarraldo, pataphysical action command whose existence was believed to be impossible. One of those evidences was the edition of a demo full of chaotic songs, something like Ubu vs The Residents. The audience was astonished: Fitzcarraldo really existed! They came from Valencia! They were not two but three! Their names were Pilar Barrachina, Ana García and Andrés Blasco (this one asserted that he had played the bass in Carmina Burana), they combined free-rock with lively party music and they said to be members of EL OTRO ILUSTRE COLEGIO OFICIAL DE PATAPHYSICA EN VALENCIA. The whole society was able to overcome the trauma and, in the subsequent years, the group gave songs to some compilatory albums, frightened in live concerts and came back as a duet after Ana's departure. In 1994 they recorded a CD of a pure alienation which augured so many great things (a quilted cell) but it resulted to be their swan song. Klaus Kinski's Levantine answer dissolved then and Pilar became the percussionist in Felpudo Tos. Andrés has been recently seen in Belgium. There is something going on.

"Little remnants of emotion; tortured vigour flashes patched of surrealist humour." (José Boix - RUTA 66)

"An abstract, surrealist and psychotic work shaped as a twisted sonorous collage. And, although their clearest references seem to be groups such as Can or The Residents, their music is not exempt of a new-wave rhythm, electroacoustics or a surrealism connected with Derribos Arias." (Luis Llés - ROCK DE LUX)

"Wonderful and expressive themes (that increase their value in every listening) which compound the universe offered by Fitzcarraldo, who use with no sense of shame at all, all kind of arrangements and effects, which, in spite of their modernity, transpire classicism. Imagination, my dear friends, imagination." (Carlos Subterfuge - SUBTERFUGE)

"As deafening and poetical as a serenade of carracks." (Miguel Ángel Miralles - SPIRAL)

"An ambitious instrumental proposal without any concession, where continuous changes of rhythm and setting are followed one after another. It is such a somersault of the latest Hispanic rock (?) with an include free version of The Residents." (Javier Corral - LA RIA DEL OCIO - BILBAO)
