biografia

Antón Ignorant is a self-taught musician and a multi-disciplinary artist who was born in 1957 in Murcia, although he has lived in Barcelona since 1964. In 1982, he started his musical activities and, from 1985, his poetical performances, the composition of soundtracks, video-creations and dance shows.
Ignorant has been, from the mid-80's, one of the most personal agitators of the avant-garde scene in Barcelona. Some of his projects have been Avant-Dernières Pensées (whose first recordings date from 1984) and Audiopeste, publishing under this name, in 1983, the album "El Arte de Cojear con la Guitarra", together with the guitarist Miguel Burgués (ex-Alien Mar). He has also been a member of Macromassa and Raeo in some of the several facets of these bands' careers. His work as a poet and performer is quite remarkable too.
Nowadays, Antón Ignorant shares his work in Gràcia Territori Sonor with his musical contribution to the project Leónidas, with Victor Nubla and Io Casino. In the last Experimentaclub' 00 Festival Ignorant revived, live, and together with Nubla, the duo that in 1986 gave rise to the album "Delirio de Dioses".

" 'El arte de cojear con la guitarra' (Audiopeste) is one of the most open and innovatory albums that I have listened in the last few years.../... A master exercise of liberty and expression that has been unpublished in the national musical panorama until now. Its listening is, in any case, not an easy one: on the contrary, it forces you to pay attention and to go through the cuirass of displeasure provoked in a listener not very initiated in music. And I'm not referring to the 'noise', but to the ability of creating melodies, sounds and simple and complex effects at the same time." (Jesus Rodriguez Lenin)

"It is clear enough that Audiopeste move in the same trail of 'guitarrorists' such as Glenn Branca, Rudolph Grey or Lee Ranaldo; but they also know how to move from almost onirical delicate pieces to prodigious electric storms portrayed in the distance." (Ignacio Juliá - RUTA 66)
