Experimentaclub'10 This association between memory, experimentation and electronic sounds will be particularly echoed during Experimentaclub'10's chats, besides being represented through the artists themselves, such as the musician responsible for the No Fun Fest, Carlos Giffoni (whose sound work has recently been defined by the use of analogical synthesizers), Experimental Audio Research (exSpacemen 3, Sonic Boom's more experimental side) or in a more conceptual way through the conference/hearing offered by Anki Toner. This tenth Experimentaclub edition bets too, as always, for a continuous balance between past and present, going from the much-expected return of the British Seefeel (key name in the development of the 90s electronic music) to KTL's experimental drone spirals, the highly dark project by Peter Rehberg (Pita) and guitarist Stephen O'Malley, member of Sunn O))): hyper dense electronic black metal closing this year's edition. Following this same path, there's space too for the Canadians Nadja (the duo formed by Aidan Baker and Leah Buckareff): ambient, experimental drone and doom metal charged with a minimum plus melodic that adds multiple edges to their work. Another one of the main events at Exp'10 will be Bernhard Günter's performance. He is without doubt one of the main figures of sound art of the last few decades. He follows an outstanding path where introspection, microsounds, the search for new sonorous textures and silence itself are the key components. But there'll be more. For example, the always unclassifiable, surprising and magical world of the French Ghédalia Tazartès, presenting what will possibly be one of the greatest surprises of this Experimentaclub'10. Concrete music, poetry, vocal wails and an overwhelming dramatic force shape this unlabelable Tazartès galaxy. In addition, Xesús Vealle will show once again the enormous quality that lies within the Galician electronic scene. And, in classic Experimentaclub fashion, we'll also find two new examples of the investigation and research taking part in other geographies: Brazil, with Livio Tragtenberg, and the Arabic world through Lebanese artist Tarek Atoui. Lastly Experimentaclub'10 offers a complementary program consisting of two workshops with Roc Jiménez de Cisneros ("Ruido generativo/Generative Noise") and Pablo Serret de Ena ("Instalación sonora colectiva/Collective Sound Installation"). |
